Frequently Asked Questions

• What services do you offer?
Chariots of Philly offers an environmentally friendly, short distance urban transportation alternative to taxis and limousines. In addition, we provide our services for special events, such as weddings, parties and parades, as well as shuttle services for major events. We also provide advertising opportunities for businesses to increase their exposure on our mobile billboards.

• How do I catch a ride?
Bikecabs can be hailed on the street like a taxi. For an immediate pickup, call us during normal operating hours (see below), or send us an email to request a future reservation.

• What areas do you service?
Bikecabs currently operate in all parts of Center City Philadelphia, including Rittenhouse Square, Old City, Society Hill, Art Museum Area, Fairmount, Bella Vista, South Street District, Washington Square, Graduate Hospital, Logan Square, Chinatown, Italian Market and other neighborhoods. You can also find us in Northern Liberties and Manayunk.
• When do you operate?
Chariots are usually available 7 days/wk between 6:30 pm & 2:30 am, and during the daytime on Saturdays and Sundays. We are available 24/7 for reservations. Please call or email for availability.
• How much does it cost for a ride?
There is no set cost, other than a $5 minimum, for a bikecab ride. Our drivers are not paid hourly and work solely for your gratuity. The average tip is between $10 - $20+ (or about a dollar per block), depending on the number of passengers and distance. Please tip your Charioteers well – a full bikecab weighs over a thousand pounds which means it's no easy job!
• How safe is riding in a bikecab?
Riding in a bikecab is no more dangerous than walking, riding your own bike or driving a car. Our chariots are equipped with seat belts, turn signals, helmets (for children under 12) and are brightly illuminated at night. In addition, passengers are fully insured.
• How many bikecabs are in your fleet?
We currently have 10 yellow bikecabs and 1 "wedding chariot" in operation.
